Social Engagement Among Youth
The basketball court in your neighborhood is planned to be demolished to make way for a parking garage. You try to organize a protest, but it’s not working. Isn’t this a reason to protest? If we don’t resist and don’t protest, it will just keep happening.
Would you go to a protest, sign a petition, alert the media, or join a civic organization? This time, the topic of the short podcast “Be a Nice Human” is youth social engagement. When and how did young people become so apathetic, and how can they be encouraged to be more civically and politically engaged?
The video is based on findings from the study “Encouraging Youth Civic Activism Through Media Engagement”, conducted by the Institute of Communication Studies as part of the project “Use Facts”, funded by the British Embassy in Skopje.
